Just four days after holding a nationally televised bout, boxer Victor Ortiz, 31, was detained in Oxnard County, California where he has been charged with rape.
According to multiple reports and an official statement, the former world champion voluntarily surrendered on Tuesday after which he was given a bond by Victor Manuel Ortíz, 31, a resident of Tarzana."
The results of said investigation generated the arrest warrant against the boxer who now faces charges of rape, forced oral sex and forced finger penetration.
Ortiz was the world welterweight champion in 2011 and managed to crown himself by defeating Andre Berto. He subsequently lost the golden belt after being knocked out by champion Floyd Mayweather.
Parallel to boxing, Ortiz has maintained for years a prolific career in Hollywood action tapes and series such as The Expendables (2014); the Hawaii 5-0 series (2016) and the Dancing with the Stars (ABC) contest show in 2013.
