Mexican comedian Karla Luna died Thursday after waging a long battle with cancer.
The death of the actress, who became famous for the comic duet Las lavanderas, was reported on Twitter by the Mexican television channel Multimedios, for which she worked.
Despite Luna starting treatment after being diagnosed with womb cancer in 2012, the disease spread to other organs in the body. Two years after the first diagnosis, doctors reported that cancer cells had appeared in the glands. In 2006, it affected her left neck, according to Univision.
The comedian leaves four children, the product of her marriage to Américo Garza, whom she divorced in 2015 after an infidelity scandal. Before she died, she requested that her children remain and be raised together.
Many were the samples of love and solidarity that the actress received during her strong battle against the disease.
Actress Consuelo Duval visited her home on September 13. Gesture that the comedian treasures with the soul. She even shared photographs of that moment on her Instagram account with this beautiful message.
"I can not … my face says it all @consueloduval thanks for coming to brighten my day with your magic. AMIGA does not say just like this why yes, and I am lucky to have you my friend, "she said.
The comedian will be veiled in her hometown, Monterrey, so that her friends and family can say goodbye. Rest in peace.
