There are many stories of people who have fought against obesity, but few have captivated as much as that of Doug Armstrong, a father of a family who is now 660 pounds and cannot even play with his children.

The fight with the overweight man who is over 6 feet tall will be featured in the popular My 600-Lb show. Life (TLC), which has documented similar cases of obesity.

A video shared by the network shows how Armstrong, 36, takes his son and his twin brothers to the park with his wife, Ashley, laboriously walking with a cane and bandaged ankles.

In a heartbreaking moment of the video, his eldest son, Cooper, is observed inviting his father to slide down the slide, but he replies that he "can't", to which the boy responds with a tantrum and hides behind the games.

Armstrong, who according to the program's report won a tough battle against drugs and alcohol, is now fighting his other addiction: food.

"I feel bad for [my wife] Ashley because things shouldn't be this way," he explains in the clip. "I know she has to do everything, and that makes things harder for me."

A feeling that the wife shares. "I love doing things with the whole family, but sometimes it's not even worth it," Ashley said. "It is extremely exhausting, because all Doug can do is sit around. It has gotten to a point where he is hardly a part of this family anymore."

The complete chapter of My 600-Lb. Life will air this Wednesday at 8:00 pm EST on TLC.
