Malía Obama seems to have started his way to Hollywood with a visit to the prestigious Sundance film festival, which each year brings together the main independent productions in this Utah town.

According to the AOL portal, the Obama's oldest daughter, 18, was seen Tuesday at the Yarrow Theater at the presentation of the movie Beach Rats, a homosexual-themed film.

As expected in a girl her age, she has already started to become independent from her parents, who after leaving the White House spend a vacation in an impressive California mansion.

Malia's presence at Sundance is not surprising, as the young woman will intern at the production company of the well-known film entrepreneur Harvey Weinstein, one of the most powerful in Hollywood.

Malia, who recently volunteered in Bolivia alongside a group of compatriots, is taking a gap year before beginning her undergraduate studies at Harvard.

Her interest in dramatic productions is not new, since in 2015 she worked as an assistant without pay on the set of Girls (HBO), the controversial and successful series by Lena Dunham. She was also involved in an Extant series starring Halle Berry and produced by Steven Spielberg for the CBS network.
