The crash of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airline plane claimed the lives of the 47 passengers on board, and although only 43 of those bodies have been rescued, authorities say they do not expect to recover any survivors.
Among the famous passengers in the plane crash was vocalist for one of Pakistan's most famous music groups in the 1990s Junaid Jamshed, who sang for Vital Signs, but left the music more than fifteen years ago to become a traveling evangelist with the Tableeghi Jamaat group.
According to CNN reports, nearly 500 soldiers and doctors turned to rescue work from the accident that happened yesterday while the Fokker-type plane was covering the route between Chitral and Islamabad.
Azam Saigo l, the director of the airline, confirmed the deaths and revealed that just a few minutes before the spectacular accident, the pilot alerted a fault in one of the engines.
The Reuters news agency also reported that Saigol stated that this aircraft had undergone regular maintenance, including certification, in October. "I want to make it clear that it was a plane in perfect condition," he said.
The aircraft apparently suffered a failure in one of its two engines. I think there was a technical error or human error. Obviously there will be a proper investigation.”
