Although this time without clouds and stars, the designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada has returned to the catwalks and has done it collaborating with the painter Domingo Zapata in a show that was presented this week in the framework of the Los Angeles fashion week.

The two Spanish artists joined creative forces to bring to life a collection that they have named “Freedom”, in which she designed all the garments that were later “intervened” and painted by him.

In addition to the ways in which the designer is known, this “art to wear” show was riddled with messages of optimism and hope drawn on the clothes, but there was also space to draw attention to other issues that are sadly topical, such as gun control or the case of Gabriel, the Spanish boy who disappeared in a town in Almería and has shocked half the world.

To remember the “pescaíto”, as the boy was affectionately known, Zapata drew a fish in one of the dresses in his collection and published it on his Instagram account with this affectionate message.

“It seemed like a wonderful opportunity […] to celebrate a fusion between fashion, art and music with a social conscience for a more beautiful and better world. The freshness, detail and such fun shapes that Ágatha designs are wonderful and have been the perfect canvas to develop my vision, "said Zapata.

After participating in New York Fashion Week and presenting Freedom on the Californian catwalk, the artist is now preparing an exhibition of paintings in collaboration with singer Alejandro Sanz to be held in New York next May and a short film that It will be shown on the famous main screen in Times Square in April.

Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada does not stop either. She has just made news again after dressing the National Ballet of Sodre, from Uruguay, with her unique and totally unmistakable style, which premiered yesterday her new version of Sleeping Beauty.
