After becoming known for her acting work in movies like X-Men: The Last Stand and in the television series Heroes (ABC), Dania Ramírez has just started a new chapter in her career where her beauty is the protagonist. The Dominican actress is the new Latin face of the cosmetic brand CoverGirl, thus joining a long list of celebrities, which includes Rihanna, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, and Queen Latifah.
The 29-year-old histrion spoke exclusively with People En Espanol.com about this new professional adventure, and shared with us his little secrets to always stay beautiful.
What does it mean to you to have been chosen as a CoverGirl girl?
The truth is that it is incredible. It's like a dream come true because since I was little I watched the commercials, and I remember that I always wanted to be one of those beautiful girls that I saw on television, and now I'm one of them. It feels great and I am proud to have the privilege of being a Latina CoverGirl and representing the breed in a positive way.
What is it that makes a woman beautiful?
I think the most important thing is to recognize the beauty within you. As a woman, loving yourself enough to realize how beautiful you are, the beauty you have inside and out.
What is your beauty routine?
Since I'm in the middle of entertainment, I wear a lot of makeup. So for me the most important thing is to use makeup that is not very heavy, as a base without fragrance, for example, so that the pores can breathe. And I always take off my makeup at night before bed.
What is your favorite beauty product?
Right now it's the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain lipstick because it gives color to the lips without leaving them sticky. And I can't live without the Lashblast mascara, because it gives the lashes a lot of volume.
Some little secret of beauty that you have learned from your mom…
My mom used lipstick on her cheeks when she forgot the blush. Something very practical because I think it is always necessary to have a little color on the cheeks.
