Kensington Palace has revealed details about plans for the christening of Prince George on October 23.

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton's 3-month-old son will be baptized during a 45-minute ceremony at 3 p.m. in the chapel of St. James's Palace, People reported.

The Archbishop of Canterbury will lead the ceremony, which will be attended by Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Prince Harry, and Kate's family.

Although William, his father, and the queen were all baptized at Buckingham Palace, the new father is believed to have chosen the Royal Chapel for his son's intimate ceremony in tribute to his deceased mother, Princess Diana. It was in that chapel that the deceased princess's coffin remained for a week before his funeral in August 1997.

It is not the first time that William and Kate have paid tribute to the prince's beloved mother. William proposed to Kate in 2010 with the 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring that had belonged to Diana, and furthermore, the couple married at Westminster Abbey, where Diana's funeral had been performed 14 years before.

In July, when the new parents left the hospital with her son, Kate wore a polka dot outfit similar to the one Diana wore when she left the hospital with her now husband William.

Although Kensington Palace did not reveal who the baby's godparents will be (the six chosen ones will be announced on the day of the ceremony), the future heir to the British throne will sport a replica of the lace and satin christening gown that was originally worn by the daughter. Major of Queen Victoria in 1841.

After the ceremony, formal photos will be taken, and a historical photo of the Queen will be distributed accompanied by three heirs to the English throne: Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.
