In 2007, the late Steve Jobs introduced the world to the iPhone at the Macworld convention. Jobs brought to life the idea of computer to phone, essentially removing the physical keyboard and mouse.

Fast forward to yesterday- CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple has sold it's billionth iPhone. “IPhone has become one of the most important, world-changing and successful products in history. It's become more than a constant companion. iPhone is truly an essential part of our daily life and enables much of what we do throughout the day,”said Cook.

When Steve Jobs walked out nine years and said, “Today, Apple is going to reinvent the phone,” he couldn't have been more right. In celebration of this milestone, here are the ways that iPhone forever changed our lives.

24/7 Internet

Do you remember having to deal with the screechy noise when trying to get online and having to enter a username and password? With our iPhones, the most impactful change has to be having Internet anywhere, at any time.

Social media

Would social media even be popular if it wasn't for our iPhones? Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat- these social media apps are a big part of our daily lives and connect us in ways we could've never imagined.

Maps

#TBT to having to print out Mapquest directions before heading out of your house. When was the last time you saw someone using a GPS instead of his or her iPhone while driving? Our iPhones made getting lost impossible with Maps and Google Maps app.

Photography

Do you remember having to buy a disposable camera for special events? Or dealing with blurry photos from your flip phone? What about when you had to take your printed pictures with you to the next family outing to show everyone? We now can take just as good a picture as a professional camera with our iPhones and send or share them within seconds.

Music

Remember when people would carry around an iPodor mp3 player with their phone? Our iPhones let us have our music on our devices so there's no need for anything else and songs are downloadable in an instant.

Banking

There was once a time where you had to walk to a bank to transfer money into someone's account or meet with them to give the person back the money they lent us. Currently, we are able to transfer money in less than minute via apps like Cash or Venmo. Let's not forget that you can even deposit a check into your account using your iPhone's camera.

Food

With Seamless and Grubhub, who calls to order their food anymore? Thanks to our iPhones, ordering food is as easy as sending out a text message. Plus, we can track it.

Emojis

Do you remember when people would type out faces like ? or ? and those were pretty much the only options we had? Years later, we are using tons of emojis on our iPhones to express any type of emotion. There are even emojis of our favorite celebrities.

Discussions

Making bets is much more interesting and finding out who's right is never a problem. We don't even have to type it, if we ask Siri, she'll most likely tell us the answer immediately. Any fact or figure is now accessible within seconds. Now pay up.
