Demián Bichir's Brother Talks About Stefanie Sherk's Death

During the premiere of a play in Mexico City, José Ángel Bichir, nephew of Demián Bichir spoke about the suicide of his aunt Stefanie Sherk. "It was a silent disease that we didn't realize," Bichir told the Mexican newspaper Excelsior. "These kinds of diseases are common today."

Luckily, Demián has a family that has been supporting him. "Demián is a strong man, we know he will come out before this pain, but we as a family are also supporting him and giving him a lot of love," said the actor, who is the son of Odysseus Bichir.

Sherk passed away on April 20 and Bichir revealed through his social networks that his wife had committed suicide. She died of depression and was found lifeless in her home pool. For the second time, the deeply affected actor has confirmed the sad news through his social networks.

Something that he would have preferred, as he himself explains, to have done but not so quickly and with such recent pain in the heart. “Depression has claimed the lives of many beautiful, wonderful and talented people like my beloved wife, Stefanie. The nightmare we have been through in the last few days can only be alleviated if we succeed in turning our pain and regret into a message that will raise awareness on this subject even more, in the whole world, hopefully, to save other lives”, the moving writing has begun.
