The gesture of a model is attracting attention at Miami Swim Week as she parades with a rather peculiar "accessory" in her arms, her five-month-old baby.
During the Sports Illustrated Swim Search fashion show on Sunday night, Mara Martin walked the runway while breastfeeding her daughter.
The new mom flaunted her little girl, who was wearing noise-canceling headphones, a green bikini, and a diaper, while she was walking in a gold one-shoulder bikini.
"I can't believe I'm making headlines with my daughter for doing something I do every day," wrote Martin on Instagram.
Martin says she was chosen from 16 finalists for the W South Beach fashion show. During the parade, she and her daughter were showered with applause.
"I am so grateful to the entire Sports Illustrated team for choosing me!" She posted on Instagram before the show.
After the show, Martin wrote: “It really is so touching and unreal, to say the least. I am so grateful to be able to share this message and hopefully normalize breastfeeding and also show others that women CAN DO EVERYTHING.”
Social media users expressed their appreciation and support for Martin's action, and the topic has been trending this week.

The Sports Illustrated Swim Search program also featured Paralympic Brenna Huckaby, who came down the track with a prosthesis on her left leg.
