Some media claim that Maite Perroni could play Selena Quintanilla in the biographical series about the deceased singer who is already preparing. Given this, the actress's publicist ends with speculation.
"It's just a rumor," Perroni's publicist warned People en Español. "It is not true and for now there is no concrete proposal."
The bioseries will narrate the events that led the Tex-Mex queen to her tragic death at the Days Inn motel in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 31, 1995; as well as what happened after the deadly shot.
The plot is based on the book The secret of Selena, written by María Celeste Arrarás in 1997; which has outraged the singer's family.
Even, Suzette Quintanilla, her sister, warned a few months ago that the journalist's text "is based on lies" and tells the version of Yolanda Saldívar, the murderer "who shot her in the back and left her to die".
For his part, Arrarás has denied that these statements are true and are the product of ignorance, so he suggests that they read the book.
Last June, a supposed video about this project was leaked, where you can see the Mexican actress Alejandra Ley playing Saldívar.
The bioseries on the Queen of Tex-Mex will have thirteen episodes and will be produced by Disney, LatinWE and BRF Media, in collaboration with Telemundo, where it will air in the United States. The broadcast for Latin America will be on TNT and Mexico will come on TV Azteca.
