Woman Drowns In Playa Del Carmen

The family of two boys who suffered a mysterious and deadly incident in a resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, are looking for answers to understand how their children were found unconscious in a pool, and why one of them died without being able to be saved.

Abbey and Austin Conner, 20 and 22, respectively, were with their mother and stepfather enjoying a vacation in the Mexican port, where they stayed at the Paraíso del Mar hotel in January.

Hours after arriving at the mentioned resort, the family from Pewawkee, Wisconsin, separated: the minors left the pool, and the adults to walk to the beach.

When it was time to meet and seeing that the boys did not appear at the hotel or answer in their room, the couple sought help from the staff, receiving the news that the boys had been found in the pool and transferred to a medical center in Riviera Maya.

Austin Conner was admitted and subsequently declared in stable condition after being found face down in the pool.

But, according to Daily Mail reports, his sister's fate is not the same. Abbey was foaming at the nose, her collarbone was fractured, and unlike her brother, she no longer woke up.

After being transferred to a Cancun hospital and later to the Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the family decided to disconnect her from a respirator on January 12 and finally died.
