Wow if Ivanka Trump's latest interactions with the public have been bumpy.
A few weeks ago, the daughter of President Donald Trump was booed while participating in a conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Now a couple of messages that she posted in solidarity with the gay community have generated angry responses on social networks that accuse her of "pretending" and reject her support.
"I am proud to support my LGBTQ friends and the entire community of Americans who have contributed so much to our society and our economy," Trump said in one of his tweets shared on Thursday night on the occasion of Pride Day celebration. Gay in different parts of the country throughout June.
As expected, the message from President Trump's adviser did not sit well with critics of the policies towards the LGBTQ community of the new White House. "This tweet is so wrong that it's even funny," said a Twitter user. "Ivanka Trump, we don't want your support, what we want is for you to go," said another enraged tweeter.
The editor of the specialized magazine The Advocate, Lucas Grindley, responded to the controversy with an article titled "Ivanka Trump's tweets about gay pride do not make her an ally of the LGBT community."
“There is something in these tweets about [celebrations of] gay pride that has touched the sensibilities of the LGBT public. We are tired of being used as an object,”said the editor in his note.
