President Donald J. Trump, who just this week is in power for a week, spoke out about the controversy generated by the jokes and comments directed at his youngest son, Barron.

One of them cost a writer for the Saturday Night Live (NBC) show, who apologized after a message on the networks in which she made fun of the 10-year-old boy.

In an interview on Fox News Thursday, the president came to the defense of his son with his third wife Melania, assuring that it is "terrible" that he has been the target of attacks.

"I don't mind a little humor, but that's terrible," Trump told host Sean Hannity.

"That they attack … that NBC attacks my 10-year-old son is a disgrace," continued the Republican billionaire. “[Barron] is a great boy. And this is not easy for him, believe me.”

The comments prompted Chelsea Clinton to come out in defense of the boy last Sunday, asking to be given "the chance" to be what he is, a boy.

Later, Ivanka Trump, the younger's half-sister, posted a video on their networks that shows Barron's tender and friendly side.

Finally, the White House issued a statement requesting that the child's private life be respected.

Trump also spoke about the popular imitation that actor Alec Baldwin makes of him on Saturday Night Live to describe it as a real "disaster" and not funny. "[Baldwin] is terrible on the show," he said.

She also opined on Madonna's controversial comments at the Women's March last Saturday in Washington DC, in which she spoke of "flying through the air" at the White House.

"Honestly, it's gross," the president said of the 58-year-old artist. "I think she hurt herself [with the comment]. I think it hurt [her] cause.”

The magnate noted that the Material Girl's statements were "a disgrace to the country."
