A former Bulgarian beauty queen, Anita Meyzer, thought she was starring alongside her husband in her own version of the movie Fifty Shades of Gray when the exploration of her fantasies got out of hand.
According to the Bulgarian press, Anita and her spouse, Nikolai Dimov, practiced "a wild night of sex" in which they practiced sadomasochism. As part of the session, the 40-year-old had the fantasy of having his neck and limbs tied with plastic ties. He did so well that he was unable to free himself and suffocated to death.
When the police arrived, Meyzer lied saying that she had gone shopping and when she returned she had found her husband dead. She also tried to bribe the agents with 300,000 euros so that they would not air their sex sessions.
In court, the shocked woman apologized for what happened. "For the last 4 months I have been incarcerated and wondering how this could happen to me. I am the cause of the death of the person I love the most," she said.
The 41-year-old model was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after the strangulation was found to be the result of chance in a sex routine. For this reason, she must spend 3 to 4 years in prison.
