When her little boy of just 11 days passed away, Ariel Matthew's breasts were still producing milk. So she immediately decided to extract the maximum amount possible to donate it to the little ones who needed it.

"I decided to donate it right away because I knew he would not survive," the 25-year-old tells People magazine. Noah's 3-year-old mother had another loss just a year earlier when her baby was born and also tried to donate milk, but this time it was less.

"I think it was because it arrived earlier than expected so I didn't produce more milk," adds the young mother. "So I set myself another goal, if my body allowed it, I would try to reach a thousand ounces."

In total she has already donated 2,370 oz, about 18.5 gallons, which corresponds to approximately 148 pounds, just what she weighs. "It felt great to donate everything, especially because I would receive the hugs and thanks from the mothers when they came to pick her up," she continues excited.

That gesture has made the mothers send her photos of their children just after they have taken the milk, full and sleeping in peace, which for Ariel is a source of pride and satisfaction.

Her story was documented by herself on Instagram and went viral immediately this week when people began to be moved by her generous gesture.

It is wonderful. If good things can come from a loss. If I can cheer people up and show that this is not the end, that we can get through this and live a good life without letting bad things destroy us.”
