New data emerges around the murder of little Yuliana Samboní. Although from the beginning the alleged author of the event, the architect Rafael Uribe Noguera has pleaded not guilty, his brother Fernando has made statements to the media that could go against him.

When asked last Friday at the Prosecutor's office about an alleged alteration of the crime scene, Fernando replied thus: “We deeply regret the death of Yuliana. We apologize for my brother."

These words do not work in favor of the alleged murderer, since they somehow attribute a certain degree of responsibility to him in this macabre crime for which Rafael could face a sentence of up to 60 years in prison.

The events date back to last Sunday morning. The 7-year-old girl was kidnapped in a gray truck early in the Bosque Calderón Tejada neighborhood of Bogotá. Rafael, 38, from a wealthy family, reportedly took the girl to his apartment, located about ten minutes from the area where she was abducted.

On Monday, the Colombian authorities issued a capture order against the architect, who had been admitted by his family to a hospital due to an overdose of alcohol and drugs, which subsequently produced a heart attack in the subject.

The world was dressed in mourning when they learned that the little girl's body was found raped, tortured and lifeless on Tuesday morning in the architect's apartment. Although her death took place much earlier, it was in the early hours of this day when the authorities discovered the girl's lifeless body and the fatal news was made public.

The little girl's parents, Juvencio Samboní and Nelly Muñoz learned of the terrible outcome and publicly demanded punishment for those responsible for such aberration. In addition, the still astonished parent was transferred to La Victoria Hospital due to the impact of the news. The woman is 20 weeks pregnant and her shock was a very big risk.

Neighbors and people from the neighborhood started spontaneous protests asking for justice. At that time, the Uribe Noguera family decided to issue a statement where they assured: "Rafael will have to assume the drastic consequences that come from his inexplicable actions."

To the investigation of Rafael's alleged guilt are added new irregularities such as the possible alteration of the crime scene by several relatives of the architect, who after a day admitted to the Navarra Clinic was finally transferred to the Paloquemado courts to be later sent to the Modelo prison, where he still remains while the case is clarified.

When the process was underway, the security guard at the building where the victim appeared was also found dead. The causes of his death are unknown, but it is expected to have more data after the autopsy, currently in process.

Fernando Merchán, security guard of the building, was collaborating in the investigation. According to the Colombian Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez, the man had been interviewed and his data shed much light on what happened on December 4, not favorable for the architect.

The world continues without words before this brutal murder. Yuliana was an indigenous girl from the Yanacona people. The little girl had moved with her family to the capital in search of a better economic future.
