Colombian architect Rafael Uribe Noriega sexually abused Yuliana Samboni, 7, confirmed Carlos Valdés, the director of the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Colombia last Monday to CNN in Spanish.
"We found that there is genetic material in the body of the minor of seven years that links him both in sexual abuse, in rape, and in the death of the minor," Valdés said.
On December 4, the girl played innocently at the door of her humble home north of Bogotá. Hours later, the authorities found the lifeless body of the minor in an apartment located in the exclusive sector of Nueva Granada. Images of the girl's corpse showed her face covered in bites and multiple blows to the body, according to Noticias Caracol.
Following his arrest, Uribe, 38, pleaded not guilty. "Laboratory tests confirm the relationship that Mr. Rafael Uribe had with the death and sexual abuse of the minor Yuliana Samboni," said Valdés.
Yuliana was an indigenous girl from the Yanacona people. The little girl had moved with her family to the capital in search of a better economic future.
