In an era in which diversity has become one of the main themes of both fashion and makeup companies, it is difficult to think that we still find brands that dare to show their products with the standards of beauty that have already been established. become a thing of the past. Especially when everyone already knows the consequences they may face when they do not campaign or create products that are inclusive. That apparently was forgotten by the popular online store NastyGal, who, due to one of an oversight, got into tremendous trouble.

It turns out that the brand launched a series of ads with a model that looks very thin. They show the young woman playing golf and tennis, and wearing sportswear as well as dresses and skirts.

Advertisements for the British brand were banned by the British Advertising Standards Authority, alleging that the model does not look healthy and weighs below normal.

Although NastyGal defended herself by saying that the model met the standards of a healthy person in that country, the entity alleges that the poses and the way they present the young woman, is done in a way that she looks as thin as possible. For example, in one of the shots they zoom in on the model's chest and her rib cage is visible.

The ads were taken off the air and the entity emphasized to the brand that from now on they should be more responsible with the content that their commercials have.

What do you think of the decision?
