How did you go from being an executive in the publishing world to an activist?

Since I was little I was struck by gender inequality in every way. As I grew, that concern turned into a desire to raise my voice for the injustices in the treatment of women, especially the sexual harassment or abuse of girls and women. […] A friend with whom I grew up very closely confessed to me that during her childhood she was psychologically and sexually abused by a member of her family. As a woman and mother of 3 girls my heart ached and at the same time made me open my eyes to realize a very common reality, an epidemic, which does not come to light and unfortunately thousands of those victims, many of them girls, suffer in silence.

What is the fundamental mission of Warrior Princesses?

It begins with the awareness of parents, who are responsible for educating by example and instilling self-love, self-esteem, respect for women and equality in our children from a young age because everything starts at home. [Also through] Prevention and [also] giving a voice to victims who suffer and think that they are alone. We do this through the distribution of content both on the web, networks, media and the support of many people who spread and join the message.

How can everyone from home help the cause?

You can join by visiting our website princesasguerreras.com, on the networks with the hashtag #PrincesaWarrior, sharing phrases and messages privately or publicly, buying our shirt or our bracelets: 100 percent of the profits go to foundations that support girls abused in Peru and Venezuela.

Do you consider yourself a superwoman?

All women are superwoman, we have superpowers, many do not know or do not believe it … but we do.

Who are role models for you or the women who have most inspired you in your life?

My two grandmothers, my Yoya and Mamama Paulina, both upright, beautiful, and the most fierce women, despite the fact that in her time women should be more quiet and submissive. They were Princesses and Warriors! Her priority was always her children, her family. They fought to push them forward with values and keeping the whole family together. [Also] Roselyn Sánchez, an admirable woman, dedicated to her family, super mom, tireless fighter not only to achieve her professional goals, but to help important causes of women and those most in need.
