Halloween is coming and now that bushy eyebrows are in fashion what better idea than to be inspired by the look of the iconic artist Frida Kahlo and her unique eyebrows. To achieve our goal, we invited the make-up artist and director of the Make Up For Ever Academy, Jackie Gómez, who decided to create a colorful and sophisticated makeup, just like that of the Mexican artist. "We want it to be an inspiration, to remain a beauty," said the expert.
Gomez began the fun task by applying the first Step 1 Skin Equalizer with a matte effect over the entire face with a sponge. "This will make makeup last longer and makeup will look more vibrant," she said. This was followed by the application of the Ultra HD base, which, according to her, is the ideal to give the skin a natural and radiant appearance since it has high-definition technology, perfect for when you are going to take photos. She then proceeded to apply loose powder to her face to achieve a matte look.
Recreating Kahlo's eyebrows was the next step and the most difficult challenge, although Gómez made it seem very easy thanks to Brow Liner eyebrow mascara with which she filled and drew hair by hair to shorten the distance between them. "Comb your eyebrows, [make them] more even," says the makeup artist. "This product is like an eyeliner and we are going to draw especially in the center to join the eyebrow like Frida."
To color the face, Gómez used the Color Stick and applied it on the cheekbones until reaching the brow bone to connect both areas of the face. He applied the Aqua Black eyeshadow on the outside and inside of the eyes, lots of mascara and an orange lipstick with which he delineated his lips that he then filled.
