Victoria Beckham has selected more than 600 items from her wardrobe to raise funds for the Mothers2mothers organization, which works to prevent transmission of HIV from mothers to babies in nine African countries.

The idea came after a visit by the British to South Africa, where this organization is based, last February with the fashion editor Anna Wintour, and she met Mitch Besser, founder of the entity.

"All these garments have a special value for me, they are linked to happy memories with David or with the children," says the designer in the advertising video for the initiative that you can see below. "Many of these pieces have been made exclusively for me by the designers."

Starting August 20 on the website TheOutnet.com, iconic dresses will go on sale, such as the canary yellow suit she wore at a party in 2006 designed by Cavalli or the mythical white design of Dolce & Gabbana who wore at the awards MTV in 2003.

Other pieces belong to her days as Spice Girl or models that she has worn in her public appearances.

"We are very grateful to Victoria Beckham for her generous contribution to mothers2mothers," Besser said in a statement. "The funds raised will go to mothers with the AIDS virus, so they are healthy and can protect their babies from the disease."

In addition to the fixed-price garments, the British has selected a dozen pieces with a “historical and personal” value that will be auctioned on the same website from August 20 to 24.
