Today we have learned of a new and surprising collaboration in the fashion world. The Target company has announced that Joseph Altuzarra has designed a limited edition collection for the chain of stores.
Altuzarra, a house known for blending femininity and sophistication of French fashion with American comfort, will present clothing, lingerie, shoes and accessories.
“As a designer, I believe in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change your appearance, but also how you feel, shared Joseph Altuzarra, creative director of the brand through a statement. “I admire the elegance Target brings to fast-consumption fashion. By working together on this capsule collection we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence and beauty in all women.”
For her part, Trish Adams, Target's executive vice president of fashion and home, added: “We are always on the lookout for designers we believe can inspire our customers. Joseph's passion for making women feel confident with their fashion choices is second to none. In the fall they will be able to experience their most characteristic pieces at prices almost too good to be true.”
The collection, which will go on sale Sept. 14 at most Target stores and on its website, has about 50 pieces available from $ 17.99 to $ 89.99.
Some of Altuzarra's most celebrated clients, who received the 2011 Council of Designers of America (CFDA) award, are Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Bosworth, Cameron Diaz, and Cate Blanchett among others.
