A photo of Penelope, the daughter of Kourtney Kardashian, is causing a lot of controversy among fans over the curious decoration that the girl of only 4 and a half years old wears on her face.
It is apparently a piercing. That is, a piece of jewelry secured to the skin by means of a piercing. In the case of the girl it is a ring carefully placed on the lip.
It was her own mother, 37, who shared a selfie of both taken while the little girl apparently slept.
"Our Oscar [awards] Sunday," Kardashian said in his shared message early Monday morning. "And yes, that is a piercing. Thank you".
The wave of comments of all kinds was immediate.
