The joy that Rosie River radiated during a meeting at her parents' home in Los Angeles in October seemed complete. After years of tears, she had formed a healthy family nucleus with her husband Abel Flores; his two daughters: Kassey, 13, and Sammy Chay, 3; and Elijah, her newborn baby that she had so implored God to have. However, the photos of his missing sister Jenni Riverathat adorned the house brought out other emotions. "Rosie was happy seeing everyone, but in a moment I looked at her I knew she was missing her mentor, her best friend, Jenni, the woman she admired the most," says Flores, 25. "I knew she was sad because Jenni couldn't meet Elijah and wouldn't give her a nickname."
In fact, the Mexican-American has given herself the task of keeping her sister's memory alive in the day-to-day lives of her daughters. And with your child it will not be the exception. “I would give everything because my sister was here and saw my son's face,” yearns Rosie, 35, who is presenting it exclusively on People en Español. I will always remind them of the crazy things we did. I cannot let them grow without knowing the heart of that great woman who worked for her family and her children.”
