Rogelio Martínez "happy" With The Pregnancy Of His Girlfriend

Rogelio Martínez could not hide his smile when he announced exclusively in the new edition of People en Español that he will soon become a dad for the second time.

"God is never wrong and he sent it to us at this precise moment and we cannot be happier," says the 38-year-old Mexican singer, who is expecting a baby with his partner, the dancer with Colombian and Ecuadorian roots, Lisa Marie Córdoba, 26 years, whom he met in 2010 when he competed in ¡Mira Qué Baila! and with whom you live in Miami.

"It's a dream come true," adds the new mom, who has danced for artists like Pitbull and Shakira, among others.

When taking the pregnancy test in December 2014 and seeing that it came out positive, the couple was moved because they had tried to have a child for several years. Although Martínez already has a 12-year-old daughter - Dayrín, the result of his previous marriage to Guatemalan presenter Ninette Ríos - he is excited to change diapers again.

His girlfriend's family was also pleased to learn of the news. The couple traveled to New Jersey last Christmas to tell Cordoba's parents, siblings and nephews that they were waiting for the stork. They surprised them by opening a gift box and showing them the positive pregnancy test. It was very emotional. I'm just excited to think about it. It was something very special for us”, recalls Martínez, who is currently recording a new album.

The singer tells how the romance with the dancer arose on the set of Look Who Dances! a few years ago: “At the beginning it was all professional. The sparks began to occur little by little. I went through many things in my life. She was always there for me. She supported me in one of the most difficult moments of my life and I am grateful for that. She was there at every step and is still with me. That shows a lot. Obviously, she loves me deeply.”

The devotion is mutual and Martínez tries to please his girlfriend's every whim. "I believe that things happen in your life not because it is written, but because God puts them on the road and you are the one who choose whether to go to the right or to the left. It happened to me that way, "says the singer. “There came a point when I had to find a different path and I am blessed to have found a person like Lisa who has taught me a lot. I have grown a lot and I think that has made me worth more.”
