Jaime Camil is in the midst of promoting the movie Love on First Visa (Pulling Strings in English), a film that has made him think a lot about what it means to be a father.
"[My character] is crazy because he believes that the best thing for his daughter is not to be with her father, but to send her with her grandparents to Arizona. Then my character later realizes that he has to be with his daughter, that the only thing his daughter needs is the love of his father and to be with his father,”he says.
The Mexican actor revealed that during a scene in the story he remembered his daughter Elena so much that he reached the point of tears.
“There is a scene where my character sings a song by Benny Ibarra to the character of Renata (Ybarra), whose name is María, and we both cry. We couldn't hold back the tears, me thinking about my daughter and she thinking about her dad, who is the director of the film.”
In addition, Jaime confirmed that he and his wife Heidi Balvanera hope to soon expand the family.
"It hasn't hit, but we're trying every day."
