Laurie Hernandez Has Never Been On A Date, But She Plans To Make It Happen In The Most Adorable Way

We're sure this won't be the case for long, but US Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez has never been on a date. As Us Weekly reports, the 16-year-old Dancing With the Stars winner revealed this interesting tidbit of info during an appearance on Ellen on Thursday, but if Hernandez has her way, she plans to change her dateless status in the new year.

“I think I want to go on a date,” Hernandez told the talk show host, who asked about her plans for 2017. “I've never been on a date before. And I want to get my driver's license.” After a shocked Ellen asked the teen about how she planned to pull off this first date, Hernandez adorably replied “I don't think I have a plan,” adding, “I think I have to talk to my mom first.”

When you hear someone as accomplished as Hernandez talking about typical teen experiences like going on dates and getting her driver's license, it puts into perspective just how much success she's achieved at such a young age.

While your average teenager might've already gone on a date, Hernandez has been busy making extraordinary moves like establishing herself as the sassiest member of the Final Five, competing (and winning!) As a world-class gymnast, landing beauty contracts, traveling the world, and totally inspiring us in the process.

She's extremely busy, but we're sure she'll find time in her jam-packed schedule to mark this very special first off her list. Besides, she has plenty of time, so there's no need to rush (we know, we totally sound like moms).

Since Hernandez's celeb crush is The Voice coach Adam Levine, so we already know (and totally approve of) her type. In the end, whoever is lucky enough to be her first date better be prepared to recognize and treat Hernandez like the boss that she is.
