If you're a millennial still living with your parents, you should know that you are definitely not alone.
History has been made and for the first time in 130 years, young adults between the ages of 18 to 33 are more likely to live with a parent than with a spouse or partner, according to a recent study by the Pew Research Center.
The new trend surprisingly isn't because of money. "This turn of events is fueled primarily by the dramatic drop in the share of young Americans who are choosing to settle down romantically before age 35," explained the Pew Research Foundation.
The most common living arrangement since the 1880s had been living with a partner. However, people are now getting married later in life delaying the process of moving out.
Only 31% of young adults live with their partner or spouse while 32% live with their parents.
In particular, Hispanic Millennials have record-high numbers living with their parents at 36%, a rise from the 30% that were in this arrangement in 2014.
Now we have numbers to show our parents in case they try to rush us out. Thank you research!
