Last July, superfans launched a petition on change.org for MAC Cosmetics to honor the late Selena Quintanilla with a makeup collection. After 37,000 signatures, MAC announced that they would release a line in honor of the Tejano singer.
The makeup brand has finally released the details of the multi-product collection including a picture of one of the lipsticks. The red shade is named after one of Selena's hit songs “Como La Flor.”
Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla will be curating the collection. "I wanted the colors to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage," said Suzette. “She has been gone for 21 years already, and for this collaboration to happen, it's pretty much incredible. It just shows the love her fan base has even though she's gone; that her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she's passed.”
