For Francisca Lachapel, on the other hand, childhood is synonymous with suffering and anguish. This was revealed by the Dominican presenter in a recent open-heart interview with the television program in which she works, Despierta América, where the winner of Nuestra Belleza Latina spoke as never before about how difficult this stage of her life was for her of which he has no beautiful memories.

“To be honest, thinking about my childhood hurts a lot because I don't have a nice memory of my childhood. Sometimes I sit down and close my eyes and try to find one, a happy moment from my childhood and I can't find it”, the presenter recognized with tears in her eyes.

Francisca, who had to deal with an alcoholic stepfather who was mistreating her mother during her childhood, told us visibly excited how due to her complicated family situation she had to grow up with great anxiety and seeing what she could do to try to help her mother.

When you are in the middle of violence all the time you have this in your head you live with that anxiety and all the time you are thinking about how you can help or at least it was like I was thinking 'how can I help mommy, how I can make that man leave the house, how can I get money to give him so that then she does not have to be with this person '… And one lives as well as in anxiety always”, Lachapel said.

The co-presenter of Despierta América acknowledged that for a long time she lived resentful with her mother since she did not understand how she did nothing to end this violent situation in which they lived.

“I tried in many moments to have her explain it to me. I used to say to him 'Mommy, but why do we have to live with this man, why do we have to endure so much mistreatment […]'. And my mom told me things that also marked me a lot. He told me 'when you have children you will understand, girl you are too young to talk about these things' and for a long time I also kind of resented her a little because I couldn't understand her,”said the actress, who long ago time he managed to forgive his mom.

"It was the only way for me to keep going, forgiving her because she is the most important being in my life, she is what I adore the most in my life," he said.

He does not remember his father

Francisca was also very sincere when speaking of her father, who passed away when she was just five years old.

I don't remember my dad, I don't remember his face. I only have a single photo of my dad who actually has me uploaded. I would have loved to meet him and I know that if I had met my dad I would have been crazy with my dad even though he no longer lived with my mom,”she said.
