A child is the greatest and most precious source of energy. So when bedtime comes, some parents struggle for the little ones in the house to close their eyes and have sweet dreams. According to Jeannette Torres, family counselor and writer, getting it is in our hands. We just have to carry out certain routines that will make our nights and those of our little ones a walk in the clouds.
The organism of a child operates differently from that of an adult, so it is necessary to respect the schedules. "Just as we have an alarm clock and we respect it to get them up to go to school, we must have a specific time for the children to go to rest," shares the family expert.

But of course, it cannot be done at once, a transition is necessary. For this reason, the author of the book Ser Mamá: How to find the balance…. Without losing your mind!, recommends a relaxing bath. "It helps children calm both their body and mind, thus preparing the ground for a restful sleep," explains Torres.

And after that wonderful little time in the water, our expert suggests doing an activity every night "to close the cake and communicate that the rest time begins." For example, reading the pages of a book, sleeping with them for a few minutes, praying and even listening to a little instrumental music. So less tablets, television and mobiles that alter them and more habits that promote their tranquility.

The previous points will be more effective if they are accompanied by a balanced diet and hydration. Eating well and drinking water are another key for our child to be motivated to sleep. "Foods or drinks that contain caffeine (or as some call it" exciting ") contribute to the child's level of disturbance, making it much more difficult for them to fall asleep," says Torres.

Of all the tips to achieve our goal, Jeannette, a happy mother of two children, highlights one above all: give them a lot of LOVE. “When we put them to bed, let's not forget to give them hugs, lots of kisses, tell them how much we love them and how proud we are of them. It is the key for the day to have a HAPPY END!”, Says our beloved Puerto Rican counselor convinced, in whose book moms can find a lot of interesting tips.

Sleeping well will have a positive impact on other aspects of our child's life. So as parents it is time to acquire a positive attitude and get down to business. “The dream helps to promote that the child has a good memory, to be alert, to behave and to express themselves better. A rested child is in a better disposition to support his continuous development”, Torres concludes.
We take good note of this. Our little ones deserve everything!
