According to shared details of the ground-breaking program, the LBFD could reach a speed of up to 1,074 miles per hour, exceeding the 767 miles per hour at which sound travels.
In a report shared on the People magazine online site, it is also added that in 2021 NASA would expect to make the first tests of the plane and shortly afterwards commercial flights could be established.
