Lois Riess, the so-called murderous grandmother, was arrested Thursday night at a Texas resort after federal authorities stepped up the search for the apparently sweet elderly woman who is blamed for the deaths of her husband and a woman in Florida.
At a press conference, South Padre Island police announced that the 56-year-old woman was arrested around 8:30 p.m. local time, after a lead was received from a walker who recognized the woman from the countless images and videos that began to circulate to locate it.
Two federal agents arrested the Minnesota resident woman at a local restaurant.
According to authorities, the woman's alleged first victim was her own husband, David Riess, 54, who was found lifeless and gunshot wounded at his Blooming Prairie home on March 23.
