"Let the children come to me" was a phrase that Jesus Christ said. That was literal when last Friday, during the events of Easter, a boy with Down Syndrome tried to protect the man who represented Jesus during a procession that took place in Coahuila, Mexico.
This noble action was recorded on video. In which, it can be seen that the little boy, who according to the person who uploaded the video, Cynthia García-Galindo, is named Juan Pablo, seeks at all times to protect the actor when the interpreters of the Roman soldiers pretended to hit him or assault him.
In the short, the boy, dressed in a green shirt that had a soccer ball printed in the center with the legend Champion League and some blue-colored pants, even hugged the character of the Nazarene and stroked his arm in comfort. In addition, he saw the soldiers as a challenge to avoid at all costs that the histrion was still hurt.
“What is a boy doing with a green soccer shirt in the scene of a Way of the Cross in Monclova? Reminding us of the most sublime love, that of caring for the other with mercy!”, Is the text that accompanies the video.
And continues.
“His innocence, his overflowing love and his Down Syndrome, today upset our being.
Juan Pablo is his name, which should be synonymous with good hope. Let us teach our children to receive more communion with compassion”.
