A man scorned after being fired killed five former coworkers at a store in Orlando and then committed suicide. The shooter, John Robert Neumann Jr., 45, had been laid off in April and returned to the premises to exact revenge, according to reports. "It had nothing to do with terrorist activities," said the Orange County Sheriff.

Four of his victims - three men and one woman - died immediately at the Fiamma store, while a fifth victim died on arrival at the hospital. The identities of four of the murdered workers have been released: Robert Snyder, 69; Brenda Montanez-Crespo, 44; Kevin Clark, 53; and Jeffrey Roberts, 57. The name of the fifth deceased is still unknown.

Seven other employees at the establishment were uninjured. According to witnesses, Neumann was firing his pistol from various parts of the store and was carrying a knife that he did not use. According to the sheriff, the shooter chose his victims. "One of the survivors said that he pointed the gun at her and told her to leave." When the authorities arrived shortly after the shooting that took place on Monday, June 5 at 8:00 a.m., the killer had already committed suicide.

A few months ago, a similar incident occurred in Orlando when Caswayne Williams, a former Walmart employee, returned to the mall from where he was fired to find his former supervisor, Davon Brown, to murder him. In 2016, Orlando was also the target of the tragedy that occurred at the Pulse gay nightclub where the shooter Omar Mateen killed 49 people and was later shot by the police.
