An Oklahoma woman was sentenced to life in prison for abusing her seven-year-old granddaughter by disguising herself as a witch. It was just two months ago that Geneva Robinson, 51, and her boyfriend, 33, Joshua Granger, were found guilty on charges of child abuse and neglect, People magazine reported.

It was last Thursday that Robinson learned that he would spend the rest of his days behind bars. For her part, her boyfriend was sentenced to 30 years in prison for helping her.

According to information from prosecutors, the woman abused her granddaughter for more than a year, in addition to scaring her and burning her with cigarettes, she also hit her in the face with a roller. She always did it with her face painted green and saying she was "Nelda the Witch". Robinson removed his granddaughter from the school system, did not feed her and also sometimes put her to sleep outside with his dogs.

According to information from People magazine, when the woman was sentenced, prosecutors released cell phone videos showing some of the abuses the woman was committing against her granddaughter. In one of them, Robinson is dressed as the witch Nelda and grabs the girl by the neck and drags her on the ground.

Court records indicate that Robinson allegedly used her "Nelda" character on others, including the girl's father as a boy.

According to People, it was in 2014 that police received a call from workers at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma, where Robinson brought his granddaughter on the pretext that he could not control her. There, the doctors realized that the girl was malnourished and had burns on her body.

The girl told detectives that her grandmother would dress up the witch Nelda and punish her and also said that her grandmother constantly burned her and made her sleep with the dogs outside the house and sometimes hung her from the ceiling on a pink leash.
