Christian Chávez recalled how difficult his personal and work life became when he publicly accepted his homosexuality, because his job opportunities ran out and he was tried by people very close to him.

"It cost me work, I cried a lot, many doors were closed to me, I received comments from everyone, from colleagues, producers, directors, even people from my own family," acknowledged the former RBD in an interview with MezcalTV.

The reasons that led the singer to make that decision, just when he was in the final stage of the group, were enough not to regret what he did.

“When I came out [of the closet], I was 23 and I didn't want to be taken away from what I was, I wasn't thinking about fame, nor was it an advertising strategy. I did it because it was what I wanted and it was love, so if I inspired one, two people, three people, I consider myself well served,”he said.

Christian is satisfied with the changes that have taken place in society, since the gay community is less discriminated against than it was 13 years ago.

"Among the bad experiences, I think it is a wonderful thing to see how we have advanced and also to fight for the new generations, that their sexual preferences do not have to limit their work capacities."
