After the funeral held yesterday in memory of Ari Behn, Princess Marta Luisa of Norway spoke for the first time after hearing the heartbreaking news of her ex-husband's suicide. Before Marta Luisa rebuilt her life with Durek Verrett, the great absentee during the funeral, the couple had three daughters, the fruit of their fourteen years of marriage: Maud Angelica, Leah Isadora and Emma Tallulah, aged 16, 14 and 11 respectively.
These were the words the Norwegian princess shared in her first Instagram post after the tragedy: “Dear Ari, we were supposed to be celebrating Christmas together. We were wishing and now we are infinitely sad for your loss, since for your daughters you were that funny, warm, wise and good dad who is terribly missed,”he said under one of the portraits of the controversial artist who suffered from chronic depression.
“We miss your humorous comments, your sensitive points of view, your poetic tone, the excess of compliments and the enormous love you felt for them. Now you have left a great void, because nobody can ever take your place in front of our beautiful girls. It is so painful to think that you left us … We both felt deep pain and deep sadness, she added.
“An invisible illness ended you step by step, because that's how it happens when mental health fails. We witnessed how you disappeared little by little, but we clung to the hope of seeing you better one day. Your family fought for you and was always by your side,”he assured.
And Princess Marta Luisa ended with a phrase that Ari Behn used to say: “We miss you too much and we will continue to do so, Ari. It hurts me a lot that you never came to understand how loved you were … I hope that those of us who stay here have the delicacy to speak well to each other, to praise each other. Because we only have one life to share how grateful we are for each other and the beauty we see in others. We will think of you with love, Ari, and we will continue with our lives remembering your words: Every day is a party and you are a gem”
