After turning 18 and debuting at the prestigious MET gala that was held last May in New York, Victoria and Cristina, the twin daughters of Julio Iglesias, will perform in society on the other side of the pond, no more and no less than at the exclusive debut dance Le Bal, in Paris.

Year after year, the daughters of actors, footballers, singers and businessmen from all over the world put on their best finery and jewelry that only a lucky few can dream of to debut in this old-fashioned society dance organized by Ophélie Renouard.

The difference between these ancient events and the one that today brings together 19 prominent young people between 16 and 22 years old in Paris is that in the past it was an event in which to find a husband, as Renouard explained in an interview with the fashion portal WWD, and now it's more like a fashion show. And it is that all the participants are dressed exclusively in haute couture outfits and jewelry from the same jewelry house that changes every year.

"Behaving like a princess is tough," said the twins in the statements accompanying the announcement of their participation in the gala through Instagram. "It is not just about being pretty or wearing a crown, it has to do with how you are inside."

Unlike the Met gala where they opted for matching designs by Oscar de la Renta, the twins have chosen couture dresses by Elie Saab for the official announcement.
