Donatella Versace presented her Pre-Fall 2019 collection at the New York Stock Exchange building and took the opportunity to pay tribute to her deceased brother - who would have turned 72 on December 2. The Italian designer was inspired by the brand's past collections such as the famous pins from 2014, Jim Dine's heart print from 1997 and even the iconic green dress worn by Jennifer López at the 2000 Grammys.

The original tropical print design and neckline to the navel, was first worn by the model and muse of the Amber Valletta brand on the catwalk in 1999. A year later it would be worn by Jlo and almost 20 years later it would be the same Valetta who would re-model the new version of the “JLo dress” but this time with a heart print. The look included a modern hairstyle and makeup and a chain necklace with a heart.

This is not the first time that the famous design has come to life again. In 2014 Jennifer Lopez herself used a similar version of the Versus brand for a presentation in the Bronx. With the same print, the reference to the dress that caused a stir on the Grammys' red carpet 18 years ago could be seen with the naked eye.

Unlike the original, this one wore a lower neckline (for technical reasons on stage) and a skirt that could be removed so that the singer transformed her look into one of leotard in the middle of the stage. Another iconic moment from Donatella Versace and J What will remain in history.
