The most desired shoes of all time, with permission from Louboutin, will now also be available in a men's version. This week Manolo Blahnik has taken a historic step by announcing that he is opening his first all-male boutique in London.
The space that will be located in the Burlington Arcade galleries will open its doors to customers and fans on July 5, as published by the fashion portal Business of Fashion, and its shelves will be occupied by more than 35 different models in colors and prints that have made these shoes legendary.
The men's line will include sandals, espadrilles, oxford shoes or rocker-style ankle boots whose design was inspired, according to the S Moda website, by mythical rock bands such as the Rolling Stones.
Although there are still no images of the new models, this is not the first time that the Canary designer has made shoes for them, but in the past he had only done it in a timely manner for friends and VIP clients, such as Bryan Ferry, the singer of Roxy Music.
As the CEO of the firm and the designer's niece, Kristina Blahnik, explained, the goal is for the men's line to account for 20 percent of the brand's total revenue. "But that will take many years," he told Business of fashion.
