Venezuelan influencer Mariale Marrero has managed to win the affection of her nearly 15 million followers on social networks thanks to her passion for beauty, fun personality and the gift of connecting with people. At just 26 years old, Marrero, who grew up in one of the most disadvantaged parts of Venezuela and started her YouTube channel seven years ago with virtually no support from anyone, has become one of the most successful Latina bloggers of the moment. With her we talked about her rapid rise in the competitive world of influencers, her collaborations with prestigious brands and the creation of her own lipstick kit.

What do you attribute the success you have had so far in the sea of influencers and bloggers that exist today?

I think that everything I have achieved has been because I truly enjoy everything I do. I am passionate about creating content and connecting with new people. I never have to force myself to do it because every day I get up motivated to work, to create new ideas and to improve the quality of what I am doing.

What do you appreciate most about your Latino roots and what does that influence look like in your work?

My Latino roots are something I am extremely proud of. I think that Latinos are the most hard-working people and this is something that I apply every day of my life. I have seen many injustices in my country and that has always motivated me even more to fight for my dreams. Life has taught me that you cannot wait for things to be given to you, you have to get up and work for what you really want.

On your YouTube channel you create beauty, fashion and lifestyle content. How did the idea to launch it come about and how difficult was it in the beginning?

Starting a YouTube channel was very natural for me. At the time I was studying my university degree, biology, which was a technical career and I really didn't have many colleagues who shared my interest in makeup. So I decided to start a channel where I would give beauty tips and maybe I would meet more people with whom to exchange tips and talk about beauty in general. The channel grew much more than I could ever imagine! Personally, from the beginning it was not difficult to have my YouTube channel because it has always been something that I have enjoyed, I have never felt pressure to have more followers or more reproductions. I have only focused on sharing about topics that I like and over time those topics have evolved along with me.

You have collaborated with important beauty brands and you even have your own lip kit. How would you describe those experiences and what did you learn from them?

Collaborating with so many globally recognized brands and having my own makeup product has been a true dream come true. Sometimes I think I can't call it a dream because I never thought that these things would happen, they seemed very difficult to even dream about. I feel incredibly grateful and what I have learned the most is that no matter how wonderful the experiences you may have, always, the most important thing is to keep working hard and keep your feet firmly on the ground.

What advice would you give to young girls who follow you and who want to fulfill their dreams in this country?

My biggest advice is to work hard. Visualize your goals and design a plan to reach them. Absolutely everything is possible if you have the discipline and motivation.

What is beauty for you and what have you learned in all these years about it?

It is the maximum expression of feeling comfortable with yourself. It is accepting you, liking you, loving you. Beauty comes from within and is reflected in absolutely everything we do. I have learned that no matter what is physical, when you feel beautiful, you are beautiful!

What is your best beauty tip?

The one I apply the most in my life is a smile. They always ask me how I can never be sad. Obviously this is not true, I am a human being and I am sad like anyone but I firmly believe that although we do not control the things that happen to us, we control our reaction and always, always, always prefer to react seeing the positive side and with a smile on my face.

What projects are you working on?

This whole journey has been incredible. I have had so many unique experiences and the opportunity to work with people and projects that I could never imagine. Next year I have several surprises in store but the most important thing for me is to always stay connected with my audience, who have supported me since day 1 and to whom I owe so much.
