Supermodel Lineisy Montero is one of the best-known faces in the fashion world and a favorite of the most prestigious designers, but her rise to fame was not easy. The young Dominican woman comes from a humble family and when she was little she was teased both for her size and for her frizzy hair.

"When they discovered my hair was different, then I cut everything to make it grow naturally," says Montero. “When I arrived (at school) with different hair, everyone gave me the nickname of Rita Indiana (Dominican singer). It was kind of heavy."
