Delpozo's collection at New York Fashion Week was a nod to different artistic movements.

The round and bulky shapes of the garments and the Moon bag were inspired by the abstract sculptures of the Swiss Max Bill. The colors, intense and presented in contrast, come from the palette of the Hungarian post-impressionist painter József Rippl-Rónai.

“In every collection I always start from scratch. New palettes of colors, volumes, shapes and different combinations”, explained Josep Font, creative director of the firm in an interview with the Efe agency before the parade in the Big Apple. "I speak of a feminine, modern, young woman. Sometimes we think of the feminine as corny, but that's not what I reflect."

Art was not the only inspiration for Font, who wanted to play with the organic textures and silhouettes including sequin details reminiscent of fish scales and hummingbird feathers.

This reflection of nature was also reflected in the beauty look. Mónica Marmo, from NARS, wanted to create the metallic effect of the scales on the models' eyes. “There are various shades of glitter and I have added glitter. There is gold, silver and pink”, explains the artist. "There is a deep work of the skin, very hydrated with areas of shine and matte to make contrasts."

As for the hair, Aveda stylist Jay Braff used a texturizing cream to control loose hair, but leaving a natural look. "Very little product, we don't want it to look or feel very done," says Braff. “It is minimalist and clean, very cool. We've seen a lot of interesting textures on the clothes, so the hair goes really well with that."

Coats and jackets with volume and marked pleats but soft curves dominated the catwalk. Baggy pants, tulip skirts, tight sweaters and original hoods stood out in colors such as Klein blue, dark burgundy and amber. As for the fabrics, we saw flannel, jacquard and silk lick. Floral organza prints and multi-layered tulle dresses were also featured.
