After three long decades, Lancôme and the Italian actress Isabella Rossellini have decided to unite again. At 63, Ingrid Bergman's daughter will once again be a spokesperson for the brand and as such will share her secrets to being happy and achieving authentic beauty.
"Beyond Lancôme's values, which she magnificently represents, Isabella embodies the idea of beauty as a synonym for health," the firm's general manager, Françoise Lehmann, said in a statement. "In addition, she maintains a positive and serene attitude regarding age that is free and reaffirming."
For his part Rossellini said that the collaboration with the brand had a lot of meaning in his life and that being able to continue it fills him with immense happiness and great expectations.
She is not the first middle-aged celebrity to have been hired to grace a campaign. Actress Helen Mirren was recently hired as the new face of L'Oreal Paris, last year we saw writer Joan Didion in Céline's campaigns and singer Joni Mitchell in Yves Saint Laurent's campaigns. Even magazines like Sports Illustrated joined the trend and featured model Nicola Griffin in a gold bikini at age 56.
