Eva Mendes Does Not Want Her Daughters To Speak 'Spanglish

The daughters of Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling speak Spanglish!

The Cuban-born actress revealed on Monday on The Talk (CBS) that she is having a hard time integrating her native language at home with her offspring.

"We are trying to teach the children Spanish and it is more difficult than I thought because I speak Spanglish and that is what they are learning," said the Hitch star about her daughters Esmeralda, 4, and Amada, 3.

The actress explained that the little girls are now speaking a combination of English and Spanish, this mix is colloquially known as 'Spanglish'. “It's adorable, but technically it's not a language. So my little girl says, 'Mommy, my [mouth] hurts because I think something got stuck in my [tooth],”says the actress with a laugh. "It's so cute, but it doesn't work that way."

While Mendes' concern today is what language his daughters speak, he also revealed that he had no children in his plans.

It took me a minute. But yeah, I was never one of those women who really wanted to have children, and then I fell in love with Ryan,”she said.

What made you change your mind?

“So, I said, 'Oh, I get it, I don't want children, [Ryan] I want your children. I want your babies. '”

Eva and Ryan today are a modern couple. Sure, after going through their first-parent survival period. The happy couple started dating in 2011 after working together on the movie The Place Beyond the Pines.
