The least that Lincoln Palomeque could imagine the day that his partner, the Colombian presenter Carolina Cruz, left him a gift on the bed by surprise is that in the packaging was the confirmation of a news that was going to change his life forever: the future arrival of her first child.

"It was around nine in the morning. Carolina [my partner] had gone to see her doctor very early to confirm her pregnancy but she had not told me anything. When she returned she left me a box on the bed, as a gift. And she says 'open it'. So I open it and there was a boy's shoe, a pregnancy test and several small sticky notes that said 'we love you', 'we are three', 'our little angel arrived',”the Colombian actor excitedly reminds People en Español. "I didn't understand what was happening and when I reacted we hugged each other, we cried and it was very nice."

The unexpected but happy news filled the gallant superstar Señora Acero with great enthusiasm, who has never stopped dreaming of that moment since he learned that he is going to be a father.

"I am supremely excited, happy and anxious to have him soon in my arms and begin to discover all that feeling that those who already have that experience have told me feels," says the 39-year-old artist, who has participated in soap operas like Santa Diabla and The Queen of the South. “One changes his life a lot with this beautiful news. It is a blessing, a gift from God.”

Precisely because of this, Lincoln and his partner decided to call their son Matías. “We loved that name because it means a gift from God or faithful to God. We liked the connection that the name has with God”, explains the actor, who is nominated to be included in this year's list of 'The 50 most beautiful' of People en Español.

Palomeque is aware that the arrival of her son is going to mean a major change in her life and is already preparing to take on the challenge. “It is to start living according to him. Start doing all the things you do for him. It is my first experience but obviously I have people close to me. I know what a family means because I am also a son and I live for my mom”.

How will he be like dad? The actor seems to have it clear. I am very protective. Since I started to take on responsibilities, I have dedicated myself to protecting my loved ones, looking after them, so obviously I will also be superprotective with my son,”he admits.

"I hope to be a responsible dad, teach him all the principles and values that were also instilled in me, help him to train and give him many tips," he adds excitedly.

There is little left for Lincoln to put all this into practice since his baby will be born in March.
