The changes brought about by Donald Trump's victory in the presidential elections keep the world's eyes on the capital of the United States.

While President-elect and outgoing President Barack Obama were meeting Thursday at the White House, in another part of the presidential mansion, First Lady Michelle Obama and her successor, Melania Trump, met and chatted.

The meeting between the two women lasted 90 minutes, during which they had tea and toured the residence, White House press secretary Josh Earnest told CNN.

The conversation took place in the yellow oval room of the historic mansion and there they talked about their children and the challenges of raising them in the White House, as confirmed by the mentioned chain.

Melania Trump is the mother of a 10-year-old boy, Barron, who is the youngest of Donald Trump's five children. The smaller the first male child to reside in the White House since John F. Kennedy Jr.

"Michelle had the opportunity to meet with the incoming first lady, Melania Trump, and they also had an excellent conversation," Obama explained in a few words to the press during his meeting with Trump. "We want to make sure they feel welcome as they prepare for the transition."

On their walk through the mansion, Trump and Obama also looked out on the famous Truman balcony, which looks out onto the house's south meadow and overlooks the Washington Monument.

Melania Trump, 46, born in Slovenia, will be the first wife of a foreign-born President of the United States since 1825.

Trump, who was a model before she married the magnate, moved to the United States in 1996 and became a citizen 10 years later, after her 2005 wedding.
